Overview
Wild Tours, like many companies started from a sketch of a logo, followed up with the purchase of eleven ATVs and initiated its first excursion in May 1999 on Cozumel’s east coast. For seven years Wild Tours has operated excursions taking guests all the way to Castillo Real, Cozumel’s largest Mayan ruin and kayaking all the way to Hanan reef to snorkel its beautiful micro-atholon formations.
After hurricane Wilma in 2005 Wild Tours decided to get closer to civilization and is located in Cedral, a Mayan native village where the first natives form the Yucatan peninsula found refuge due to War of Casts of 1848. Wild Tours was pleasantly surprised to discover the trails around the Mayan village lead to ancient caves, sink holes, small Mayan ruins and fresh water stalactite caverns such as Jade, which is Cozumel’s largest cavern system.
As the old say goes “what doesn’t break you makes you stronger”; and Wilma brought the best out of Wild Tours’ working team. That same year they initiated a new tour offering guests to snorkel along Logger Head sea turtles at Akumal. The following year, they initiated their Luxury Yacht and Lobster Cruise where guests cruise in style to Colombia shallow reef and Heaven sandbars while being pampered with drinks and a great lobster meal onboard.
Additionally, Wild Tours initiated their first Xrail, an off road “Cadillac”, excursion giving guests a rare opportunity to enjoy Jade caverns, a site which is one-of-a-kind in Cozumel and was opened to the public only in September 2008.
Today, Wild Tours has a fleet of 60 ATV’s, 20 Xrails, and many unique excursions which offer personalized service, high safety standards and unconditional customer satisfaction.
With enthusiasm and love of nature and life, Wild Tours warmly invites you to enjoy the passion and fun of outdoor adventures.
